For the past five weeks I have been very busy. I spent a couple of weeks in the USA and I will be returning there again soon. Then our team presented three different Parish Mission/Events each consisting of 90 minute sessions twice a day for five days. These events went back to back to respond to Parish priests who want to book our Lenten Missions to help prepare their communities or Easter. On top of this I went to the office each day in between sessions and also gave presentations to other groups.
To be honest I am tired.
It is when I am tired that I drop my guard and I compromise the values that I truly believe in and then I act in ways that I would not when I am more rested.
Jesus gives us an example this week of being strong when He was tested. The stress he must have been under on Holy Thursday night must have been amazing and yet despite all He faced he was faithful.
Whereas when I get a little tired from a few weeks of work I can compromise my behaviour and my thoughts.
ACTION: During this week of Holy Week examine what decisions you have made and are making to ensure that in times of busyness and pressure that you can be the person you believe God has called you to be.
GOSPEL READING: John 12: 1-11
Don’t forget to comment below.
Thank you, I needed to hear your words. I was questioning my situation at work this morning and last night I was disappointed with my attitude towards my commitment to my faith. God’s blessings be with you.
Thank You Bruce , I have enjoyed
Your talks so much , and they have enriched my faith as I often feel lost ,
My husband doesn’t attend mass with me, and I often don’t go, I’m not blaming him for me not going just my fault as I use it to use lazy, during your daily talks I’ve been listening to at night Nect to my husband , and now he looks forward to listening and discuss it
I Pray & connect my self with God reading the scriptures daily. I feel so Happy which words cannot explain. I pray for you & Your teamwork to continue the work you have started that it will touch many Hearts to work for Our Glorious Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen/
Thank you
Dear Bruce, I can relate to the busienss of life that you talked about today, although I generally try not to be in that circumstance, sometimes it is unavoidable, as I found out last week.
I was caught up with the passing of mu mum and between my family and I we had just 4 days to arrange her funeral, otherwise it wouldn’t have been held till after Easter.
There was heaps to do, in particular the video of her life and the Eulogy, which for me had to be perfect, or as close as I could and with our loving Fathers help I managed to do my part with time to spare and to reflect which gave me the true feeling of an acumplishment.
With God’s grace we can achieve everything if it be his will, I even had representation at the funeral from the Impact Ministry in Perth.
Thanks Bruce for your very down to earth inspiring messages, you and all your team will always be in my prayers
Your’s in Christ
john
Yesterday’s (Day 1 of Holy Week) video not Day 2 🙁
Hi Dorothy,
Day 1 video has been updated to the correct version now. If you click on the link on your day 1 email it should take you to the correct video now.
(I was on, who received Monday message as Day 1, and answered accordingly).
Today, in prayer, I shall ask God, to be, me loving saviour.
Once again, the message runs parallel, to events, currently going on in my life. Rather, than ‘float’ on the surface, I hope to ‘go deeper’
(mindful, that the water becomes darker, and ‘undercurrents’ may
pull me further away)…..
If I remain calm and focus, on how to better equip myself, I will be able to re-surface, and keep my head above the rough seas!!
I have an anchor in God,… He will
support me and keep me buoyant.
Thank you Bruce, for your continuing reminder;
God is; ever present for us.
I am trying to see if I am in the right job for me, I am having difficulties with my immediate boss, I enjoy the work but …………………………………………………
Thank you, today’s reflection is spot on. The Action could have been written just for me!
I received the same talk for day 2 as for day 1.
Can you send the Passion/Palm Sunday talk please.
Hi Peter,
Day 1 video has been updated to the correct version now. If you click on the link on your day 1 email it should take you to the correct video now.
I have so enjoyed walking through Lent listening to your daily presentations. I love how you relate living the gospel to everyday life. I also value the written reflections at the end of the video. I might add that during lent my husband and I were holidaying in Thailand and unbelievably was able to use the resort’s wifi to connect everyday – usually lying on a sunbed overlooking the ocean!
Thank you so much Bruce and Rosemary and the entire team for reaching out to people all over the world and bringing them into a deeper relationship with our God through the power of prayer.
I pray that your mission of touching so many lives spreading the good news flourishes and that you feel the gratitude and love of all the people whom you reach. Easter blessings to you all.
How can I say where I am now without looking back on where I’ve been? And All I can honestly say is that I wouldn’t want to change any part of my life for the simple reason is that everything …the good …bad ,and the ugly have brought me to a place where for me is where I believe God can use me to reach out to another who does not know how lovable they are. I thank my God for the gift of life, and to never be too busy not to be grateful.
Dear Bruce, thank you for your beautiful reflection today. I thank you for all your video’s and reflections. It has helped me so much in my life. It is so true that life is so busy and we all get exhausted. Jesus is so inspiring how he shows how strong he is especially on Holy Thursday and with the agony he is in. Sometimes I find it amazing how all of us complain about things in our daily life, and here God does not say anything he bears the agony for all of us. I pray that you and your family are truly blessed, because of the wonderful work your bringing the good news to all of us. I want you to know you are in my prayers. Take care and may many blessings be bestowed upon you.
Dear Bruce,
I’m from Our Lady Queen of Peace at Greystanes which is one of the parishes where you held the Lenten mission. I believe you have helped me draw closer to Christ. I’m sure that is the experience of many people who attended and I hope that knowing how much you give to others is some consolation for the tiredness.
I am enjoying the Holy Week videos – it feels like you are speaking to me personally and asking some challenging questions.
I tend to spend too long at work sometimes and it is not always the best thing though it seems it at the time! When you get tired it can affect your judgement and as you said during the mission we often take it out on the ones we love most!
Blessings on you and your family and the whole Catholic Guy team. I hope the joy of the Easter season brings renewed energy and enthusiasm.
Kind Regards,
Susan
Thank you Bruce for how to rethink about the right place and redoing the right things.

commitment to help.others, enlightens and be change… thank you so much. God bless you and your family and your whole team….God bless. Cheers
At this stage i can conclude that God makes u experience circumstances that u can use to teach and change people lives.
U have changed me tremendously. I now look at life from a different perspective. Everything for me now is on the positive side, easy to dialog, forgive, forget, accept apologies, willing to render services to other etc.
I was very reserved but I am now open more than ever. Formerly I could not join any forums like this for fear of making mistakes. It was determination and that made me to join the walk and since I found that the comments I make are accepted I have been encouraged to do more.
I have been learning to pray daily while doing this and if I have done this so far, I think I am on the right path towards completing the 47 days Walk to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. I want to thank u and ur team again for changing my life. Do not forget me in ur prayers. I will remember ur wife and mum in my prayers too.
Thank you I have learn so much by your words!
